Employer Funding

100 Women in Insurance Collective membership counts towards your professional development training, so most employers will be happy to fund your subscription.

Your new connections, mentoring and professional skills can benefit both you and your employer.

Most companies have allocated training and development budgets per team. In the majority of cases, these budgets are never 100% utilized and there is often a scope for personal requests. What is more, the yearly cost of this subscription, for most companies, is within the budget authority of your manager. Meaning it should be easier to get it approved.

Here are resources to help you request the funding.

If you have any questions, please let us know here.

What your employer wants to know

  • Membership price includes VAT and we will issue you an invoice receipt.

  • The membership sits under employee development training so the cost of each membership is tax deductible.

  • For ease, we create employee memberships on an annual subscription so you can pay upfront and review next year.

  • The sign-up process is the same as an individual membership. All you need to do is enter your employer's business card details when you sign up. Alternatively, your employer can pay the invoice and we can grant you a discount code you will apply at check out to join without additional fees.

How to ask your employer to fund membership

Remember that most companies have allocated funds per department for training and development. What is more, most teams never spend the budget, which is lost (it is NOT a saving). Here are top tips for asking for funding.

Ask you manager for time to speak.

When approaching this conversation make sure you do not do it whilst your manager is running to another meeting. Instead ask for dedicated time where you can sit down and talk your manager through the membership and its benefits.

Make it clear what the membership will offer and how it will benefit you and the employer

Here are some of the benefits that you can mention, depending on your role:

  • Networking across the insurance market (potential clients and partnerships)

  • Access to talent across the insurance market, ability to promote the business and roles available within the organization.

  • Contributing to future success of female talent in the insurance industry

  • Access to (on-demand) trainings and webinars led by experts to ensure your professional skills continue to develop

  • Investing in your wellbeing, job satisfaction and future career growth opportunities within the company

  • Showing companies support for female talent (companies that fund their employees membership will be listed on 100 Women In Insurance Website, if agreed, as partners supporting the Collective goal to ensure female talent retention and success in insurance industry)
