Our Story:

From a Podcast to a Community

100 Women in Insurance (100WII) began in September 2023 with a simple idea: to share the real career stories of women across the insurance industry, inspire others and show what is possible.

What started as a podcast quickly grew into a vibrant community, bringing people together through events, networking, mentoring and shared experiences.

Today, 100WII is more than a podcast. It is a community built on connection, inspiration and opportunity, helping women build successful careers on their own terms.

And the best part? Everything we do is shaped by our community. We listen, learn and create experiences, conversations and opportunities based on what our members tell us they want and need.

Because 100WII isn't just about the women whose stories we share. It is about everyone who is part of it.

Sandra Lewin

  • Definitely chance! I started as a Lloyd’s Broker and went on to work across project management, transformation and consulting. At one point, I was convinced I would become the next CEO of Lloyd's. Life had other plans!

  • Because you can't be what you can't see. I have met so many incredible women throughout my career, and I wanted to create a space where their stories could inspire others to see what is possible.

  • Success has no timeline, and it certainly doesn't have one definition. It is OK to change your mind, start again and create a career that works for you.

  • Dancing, travelling or spending time with my family. And when I need to recharge? Give me a good book, a quiet spot and ideally a spa!

  • Outside of 100WII I am a keynote speaker and co-founder of social media agency.

Laura has over 10 years' experience in insurance recruitment and is passionate about bringing people together, building meaningful relationships and helping people create careers they genuinely enjoy.

  • Recruitment was my career choice, and insurance became my specialism! Over the past decade, I've had the opportunity to work with brilliant people across the industry and discover just how many different career paths it has to offer.

  • I have always loved hearing people's stories. No two careers are the same, and it's often the unexpected turns that make them interesting. I wanted to help create a space where women could share their real experiences, inspire others and show what's possible.

  • Relationships really matter. Whether it's making an introduction, having an honest conversation or simply listening, you never know what opportunities a connection might create.

  • Probably exploring Bristol's food scene, travelling somewhere new or baking a cake! I've also recently taken up yoga and love doing my bit for the local environment through community litter picking.

  • I'm the Co-Founder of Witcher Associates, a specialist insurance recruitment business. For me, it is all about people, relationships and making the right connections!
